ABOUT CLAUDEMIR OLIVEIRA

Claudemir graduated from Stetson University in De Land and Celebration, Florida (2004), with a Masters of Science in Individual, Couple, Marriage and Family Therapy. Claudemir is a registered Marriage & Family Therapist Intern (license no. IMT 893) with the State of Florida Department of Health Division of Medical Quality Assurance.  He has primary certification  by Albert Ellis Institute, New York,(2004) in REBT (Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy). Additionally, he obtained certification in Play Therapy by University of Central Florida (2003-2004).

Currently Claudemir is pursuing certification in Sexuality Counseling from Valencia University, and his PhD in Individual, Couple, Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Barry University. He is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA), American Counseling Association (ACA) and American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

Claudemir is a Brazilian, and has written articles in Portuguese, English, and Spanish and he is the author of the award winning story ONCE, NOT FAR FROM HOME, a short movie produced by Starsnorth. The themes of his articles and movie are directly related to the psychological field. He uses other movies and articles as homework to his clients as he believes a great story can help in the therapeutic process.  

Claudemir’s mission is to help people find happiness and peace in life by looking at their strengths. Due to his large experience in the corporate world, Claudemir also does business consulting to professionals around management and personal issues.

Claudemir has the passion for what he calls “seeds of dreams”. In one of his therapeutic approaches, he uses the analogy of helping clients to “plant” seeds of dreams in their own lives, where 3 steps will have to be followed in order to be successful: Plant your dreams; water your dreams with love and patience, and harvest will be your dreams coming true.

 “A farmer will lose everything he has planted if he stops working once the seed is in the ground. It takes a lot of care to bring crops to their yield. Nothing ever reaches the stage of fruit that is not nurtured by constant cultivation from the first day to the last.” (Seneca, around 4 B.C. – A.D. 65).
